The case of theft in the office of Zoya Akhtar, the director of brilliant films like ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ is gaining momentum. 66 high-capacity hard disks containing secret data related to films were stolen from the office of Zoya and Reema Kagti’s well-known production company ‘Tiger Baby Digital LLP’. The allegation was that these drives had been sold. Now Zoya Akhtar has broken her silence on the entire matter and called it theft.
In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Zoya talked about this matter. He confirmed the theft and said that yes, theft had taken place there. Zoya said- We had complained to the police and yes some people have also been arrested. This is the work of someone inside. It feels bad to see how far people go for money. Good thing we have backup files.
Police arrested an accused
According to the news of Hindustan Times, a person working in Zoya’s office, whose name is Shahid Khan, has been arrested by the police in the case. According to the information, this person used to work in Zoya’s Mumbai office. The FIR in the case was filed by the executive assistant of the production house, Mushtaq Shaikh.
The accused confessed to the crime
In his complaint, Shaikh said that Shahid was given the responsibility of storing and saving the discs. But on May 21, when a staff person asked Shahid for the disc, he could not give it. When investigation was done, it was found that about 66 hard drives, whose market value was around Rs 13 to 14 lakh, were missing from the office. According to the information, Shahid has confessed his crime. The accused told that he stole 24 hard drives within 5 months, and sold them for Rs 15 to 20 thousand.
