BAN vs ZIM 1st ODI: Nothing can be said when what will happen on the cricket field. The Zimbabwe team, which was bundled out for just 141 runs in front of 6 wickets of Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana, won the lost match on the basis of its magical bowling. Bangladesh’s strong batting line-up, which came to chase a small target, completely disintegrated in front of the bowling of Zimbabwe bowlers and the host team won the first match of the series by 25 runs.
Nahid Rana’s historic spell went in vain
Before this, Zimbabwe had a very bad start after coming to bat after losing the toss. Bangladesh’s pace merchant Nahid Rana hit hard and took 6 wickets for just 21 runs in 10 overs. Zimbabwe had no answer to his dangerous balls and the entire team was reduced to just 141 runs in 36.4 overs. For Zimbabwe, Newman Nyamahuri scored 33 runs and Richard Ngarwa played a useful inning of 27 runs to take the team to this score, which later proved to be the match-winner.
Bangladesh’s innings collapsed like a pack of cards
The Bangladesh team, which set out to chase the easy target of 142 runs, would not have expected that this journey was going to be so painful for them. Zimbabwe’s fast bowlers maintained pressure on the visiting team from the beginning. Due to continuous fall of wickets, Bangladesh team was completely on the backfoot. Richard Ngarava bowled amazingly and took 3 wickets for 31 runs in 7.1 overs.
Brad Evans also bowled an amazing spell and made 3 batsmen his victims while giving 34 runs in 10 overs. At the same time, Newman Nyamhuri and Blessing Muzarabani had 2-2 successes, due to which Bangladesh team was all out after scoring 116 runs in 33.1 overs. The special thing was that Zimbabwe used only 4 bowlers during this period and all four bowlers were successful in helping the team win.
