The attention of most cricket fans is on the ongoing series between India and England, where England won 4-0 in the T20 series. Team India started the ODI series with a win. But apart from this series, matches are also going on between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, in which host Zimbabwe has been consistently seen dominating. After winning the Test and ODI series, Zimbabwe also started the T20 series with a spectacular win, where fast bowler Richard Ngarawa became the hero of the victory.
Nahid Rana’s balls wreaked havoc
In the first match of the T20 series played in Bulawayo, the fast bowlers from both sides wreaked havoc. In this entire match, 3 bowlers took 4-4 wickets and all four did this while bowling economically. Incidentally, all three are also tall pacers. It was started by Bangladeshi bowler Nahid Rana, who has been in excellent form for some time and has been a problem for the batsmen.
In this match, Nahid Rana spent only 26 runs in his spell of 4 overs and took maximum 4 wickets. It was he who destroyed Zimbabwe’s top and middle order. Opener Brian Bennett, who scored the highest score of 44 runs, was also included in this. With the help of other batsmen including Bennett, Zimbabwe scored 170 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Apart from Nahid, Saifuddin also took 2 wickets.
Ngarava again became the hero of victory
After this, it was the turn of Zimbabwe’s bowlers and the first to take charge was left-arm pacer Richard Ngarawa, who has been in deadly form in this entire series. After Test and ODI, Ngarava broke the back of Bangladeshi batting in T20 also. Ngarava took 3 out of the top 5 wickets of the Bangladeshi batting order, which included both the openers.
Like Nahid, Ngarava also gave only 26 runs in 4 overs and took 4 wickets. He got good support from a tall fast bowler like him, Blessing Muzarabani, who got only one success in the beginning but it proved difficult to score runs against him. In the end Muzarabani also took 4 wickets for just 17 runs in 4 overs. Bangladesh collapsed for just 138 runs and Zimbabwe won by 32 runs. Ngarava was chosen player of the match in this victory.
