Yuzvendra Chahal Join Northamptonshire County Cricket Club: Indian cricket team’s star leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been facing constant neglect in international cricket for some time. Chahal played his last match in Indian jersey in the year 2023. Although, he was definitely a part of the squad of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 2024, but he did not get a chance to play a single match during the entire tournament. Despite not getting a chance in Team India, Chahal has not given up and is fully prepared to spread the magic of his spin on the field.
Chahal’s third innings in Northamptonshire
Yuzvendra Chahal has now joined Northamptonshire County Cricket Club for the second half of the 2026 season of county cricket in England. The environment of this club is not new for Chahal. Before this, he had also played for Northamptonshire for some time in the domestic seasons of 2024 and 2025. Now in the year 2026, he will once again be seen playing for this team. This time Chahal will be available for selection for his team in the County Championship as well as One-Day Cup format. The One-Day Cup is going to start from 21st July.
On the pitches of England, where fast bowlers usually dominate, Yuzvendra Chahal has made the batsmen dance a lot with his spin. In his last two tours of the County Championship while playing for Northamptonshire, Chahal has performed brilliantly at The County Ground, taking a total of 31 wickets. 35 year old Yuzvendra Chahal has a long and very successful experience in international cricket. In his nearly seven-year long international career, he has taken a total of 217 wickets for India in both ODI and T20 formats. This experience and excellent performance of Chahal can be very useful to the rest of the bowlers and young players of the team in the 2026 season. Chahal’s target will be to once again attract the attention of the selectors by performing brilliantly in the upcoming matches.
