Yogini Ekadashi Fast: There are 24 Ekadashi tithis in a year and 26 in Adhikamas. All the fasts of Ekadashi have been dedicated to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the sustainer of the world. Ekadashi of Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month is called Yogini Ekadashi. According to Drik Panchang, Yogini Ekadashi fast will be observed tomorrow i.e. Friday, July 10. On the day of Yogini Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu is worshiped with rituals along with fasting.
Religious belief is that by observing the fast of Yogini Ekadashi, all the sins committed knowingly or unknowingly in life are destroyed. Wealth, glory and happiness increase in the house. By merely observing the fast of Yogini Ekadashi, one gets the virtue of feeding 88 thousand Brahmins, but it is believed that committing some mistakes during the fast breaks the fast and Lord Vishnu gets angry. In such a situation, let us know which mistakes should not be made even by mistake on the day of Yogini Ekadashi?
Do not make these mistakes on the day of Yogini Ekadashi
Plucking basil leaves: Do not pluck basil leaves even by mistake on the day of Yogini Ekadashi. There is a religious belief that Tulsi ji keeps a waterless fast for Lord Vishnu on Ekadashi. Breaking Tulsi leaves on the day of Ekadashi can break the fast of Tulsi Mata. This is the reason why plucking basil leaves and giving water to it on the day of Ekadashi is prohibited in the scriptures.
Consuming Tamasic things: Do not consume garlic, onion, meat and liquor on the day of Ekadashi. It is believed that consuming these things breaks the sacred fast of Ekadashi. Also, do not consume rice on the day of Ekadashi.
Use of common salt: Give up salt completely during the fast. Do not consume normal salt during this fast. It is considered good to consume only rock salt during fasting. Eating normal salt breaks the fast.
Sprawl-brawl: Do not fight with anyone on the day of Ekadashi and do not abuse anyone during conversation. According to religious belief, making such a mistake reduces the results of the fast and can increase many problems in life.
