Yogini Ekadashi 2026: When will Yogini Ekadashi fast be observed in the month of Ashadha? Know the date and method of worship

Yogini Ekadashi 2026: There are two fasts of Ekadashi every month. This fast has been dedicated to Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, the sustainer of the world. Every month, a fast is observed on the Ekadashi date of Krishna and Shukla Paksha. In the scriptures, Ekadashi fast is considered very virtuous. Along with fasting on the day of Ekadashi, there is a tradition of special worship of Lord Vishnu. Devshayani Ekadashi fast is observed on the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month in Yogini and Shukla Paksha.

According to the scriptures, observing fast on Yogini Ekadashi destroys all sins and diseases. Fasting on Yogini Ekadashi provides virtue equal to feeding 88 thousand Brahmins. Performing puja brings happiness, prosperity and peace in the house. According to Drik Panchang, the fast of Yogini Ekadashi is going to be observed on 10th July in the year 2026 in the month of Ashadha. Let us know the worship method of Yogini Ekadashi.

Yogini Ekadashi date (Yogini Ekadashi 2026 Tithi)

  • According to Drik Panchang, this year the Ekadashi date of Krishna Paksha of Ashadha month will be on Friday, July 10 at 08:16 am.
  • This Ekadashi tithi will end on July 11 at 05:22 am.

In Sanatan Dharma, there is a belief of celebrating fasts and festivals by observing Udaya Tithi, hence this year the fast of Yogini Ekadashi will be observed on 10th July, Friday.

Worship method of Yogini Ekadashi (Yogini Ekadashi Puja Method

  • On the day of Yogini Ekadashi, wake up in the morning in Brahma Muhurta and take bath. After this wear clean and yellow clothes.
  • Then clean the puja room and sprinkle Ganga water. Take a pledge to fast with water and rice in your hand.
  • Place an idol or picture of Lord Vishnu or Shri Krishna on a clean stool.
  • Offer yellow clothes, yellow flowers, sandalwood, basil leaves (plucked on Dashami) to the Lord.
  • Offer incense, lamp, naivedya (fruits, sweets) to God. Recite Vishnu Sahastranam.
  • Chant Om Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaya Mantra at least 108 times. Then recite or listen to the Ekadashi fast story.
  • In the evening, after sunset, worship again, light the lamp and perform the Aarti of Lord Vishnu. Stay awake at night.
  • Break the fast the next day on Dwadashi date and auspicious time.
