Xiaomi 17 Max has been launched, it is the fifth model in the company’s Xiaomi 17 lineup. This Max model has the same octa core Snapdragon 8 series chipset which is also present in other smartphones of the lineup. This dual SIM phone has a 6.9 inch 1.5K (1,200×2,608 pixels) AMOLED display, which comes with refresh rate up to 120Hz, 300Hz touch sampling rate, peak brightness up to 3500 nits, HDR Vivid, HDR10+ support, Dolby Vision and Dragon Crystal 3.0 protection. The company claims that the phone has IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

This handset has Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 octa core chipset which is built on 3nm process, this chipset comes with a peak clock speed of 4.6GHz. 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor has been provided for security. Talking about camera setup, the phone has a Leica-tuned triple rear camera unit, 200 megapixel primary camera sensor with OIS. There is also a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom, which is paired with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. There is a 32 megapixel selfie camera in the front.

To bring life to the phone, an 8000mAh battery has been provided which supports 100W wired fast charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging. For connectivity, it supports Wi-Fi 7, 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, a USB Type-C port, GPS, GLONASS, QZSS and NavIC.

The price of 12 GB RAM and 256 GB variant of this latest Xiaomi smartphone is 4799 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 68,000), the price of 16 GB RAM and 256 GB variant is 5099 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 72000), the price of 12 GB RAM and 512 GB variant is 5399 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 76000). The price of the top variant with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage is 5799 Chinese Yuan (approximately Rs 82000). If this phone is launched in the Indian market in this price range, then this phone can compete with models like iPhone 17, Samsung S25 Plus.
