The England team, which set out to chase the target of 164 runs given by New Zealand, adopted an aggressive stance from the very beginning. Star opener Danny Wyatt Hodge played an unbeaten inning of 89 runs with the help of 15 fours and 1 six in just 53 balls, raining fours all around the field. On the basis of this magical innings, Danny Wyatt also broke the record of Australia’s Beth Mooney (259 runs) for scoring the most runs in a single season of the Women’s T20 World Cup, now she has 282 runs.

Danny Wyatt Hodge along with Sophia Dunkley (49 not out) made an unbroken and match-winning partnership of 128 runs in 80 balls for the second wicket, on the basis of which England achieved the target by losing only 1 wicket in 17.2 overs. With this victory, the England team remained unbeaten and on top in their group and now they will face the second placed team of Group 1 in the semi-final match on the same ground on Thursday.
