A food content creator from Gurugram is much talked about on social media. The reason is one of her videos, in which she told that whenever she cooks special food like a cafe at home, her husband gives her Rs 1,000. On hearing this, a debate broke out on the internet. Some people found this IDEA very interesting, while many people called it a step to link the relationship between husband and wife with money. Now content creator Priya has openly expressed her views on this entire matter. He says that people have misunderstood what he said. According to him, this Rs 1,000 is not the price of selling food, but is an appreciation of the hard work, time and creativity that goes into preparing a particular kind of food.
Priya told that there is a lot of difference between cooking normal food at home and preparing food with café-like presentation and taste. To make such a dish, one has to first think of the menu, then buy the ingredients, prepare, cook the food and finally serve it beautifully. All this takes a lot of time and hard work, but people often ignore this work considering it normal. His viral video reached millions of people and was viewed more than 12 lakh times. In the video, he had said jokingly that people will say that this is the wife’s job, but this wife does not do this. Many people started trolling him because of this one line. Later she clarified that her aim was not to keep track of money in the relationship, but to highlight the importance of household work.
Changed hobby into profession
Priya is a resident of Chandigarh. He studied fashion designing and also ran his own clothing brand named Concept Kapada for about 5 years. After marriage, she came to Gurugram in 2023. After this he started creating food content, which has become not just a hobby for him but also a profession. He told that there is an interesting story behind this unique beginning.
One day she and her husband were talking about equally dividing the household responsibilities. At the same time, she jokingly said that if she is cooking café-like food at home, then it should also have some value. Her husband also accepted this jokingly and said that if the same food was available in a cafe, he would have spent Rs 1,000 without thinking. In such a situation, he would prefer to give the money to his wife rather than giving it to someone outside.
Gradually this joke became a part of his life. Now whenever Priya prepares a special café-style dish, her husband transfers Rs 1,000 to her. In this way, around Rs 15,000 to 20,000 comes into his account every month.
However, Priya says that she does not consider this money as income from her husband. For them, it is a recognition of that hard work, which is often not visible in household chores. He also believes that this system also benefits the family. The money spent in expensive restaurants outside remains at home and at the same time the family also gets tasty, fresh and healthy food. Priya believes that the most important thing in any relationship is respect and appreciating each other’s hard work. If household work is given the same importance as any other work, then relationships can become even stronger.
