There are elections in Uttar Pradesh next year. Therefore, it is understandable that political action is gradually gaining speed, but even after the elections in Bengal, the speed of political action and reaction is not decreasing and is increasing. Today two big incidents happened in Bengal. The first major event was the expansion of the Shubhendu cabinet, in which 35 MLAs got a chance, there was no political controversy in it, but the big news of politics came from Mamata Banerjee’s party, in which she expelled two newly elected MLAs from the party. The two MLAs who have been expelled from the party. Their names are Sandipan Saha and Ritabrata Banerjee.
Not even a month has passed since the results and two MLAs have been expelled from the party. The question is why was it removed? TMC issued a press release saying that Sandipan Saha and Ritabrata Banerjee took part in anti-party activities. Were trying to weaken TMC. Did not participate in the meetings called by the party leadership. Kept himself away from party activities. However, when action was taken against these MLAs.
Shortly before that, both these MLAs had filed a complaint regarding fake signatures in the state assembly, where TMC had supported Shobhandeb Chattopadhyay as the leader of the opposition. However, Sandipan Saha clearly said that he knew that no one would be heard in the meeting, hence he did not go to the meeting.
Does Mamata not have control over the MLAs?
After the action against two MLAs, questions are being raised whether Mamata Banerjee does not have control over her MLAs. This question is because Mamata Banerjee had called a meeting of her MLAs in Kalighat, Kolkata on Sunday, but this meeting had to be canceled when only 19 out of 80 newly elected MLAs reached the meeting. According to sources, seeing low attendance, Mamata Banerjee decided not to hold the meeting.
It is being told that she did not even go to the meeting room and the leaders present were informed that the meeting was being postponed for the time being. He said that many MLAs are busy in their respective areas and the new date of the meeting will be decided later.
This time, out of 80 victorious TMC candidates, only 19 MLAs reached Kalighat. Earlier, 69 and 71 MLAs had attended the meetings held at the same place, so questions are being raised.
Mamta Banerjee made this allegation
On the absence of MLAs, Kunal Ghosh said that after the attacks on party leaders and workers in recent times, many MLAs have to stay in their respective areas and handle protests and organizational activities. TMC is also claiming that after the attacks on Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee, protests took place at many places, in which police action and arrests were also made. That’s why the MLAs could not reach, but all the MLAs are united.
Meanwhile, TMC has started a movement against the attack on Abhishek Banerjee and Kalyan Banerjee. Today protest marches were taken out in municipal bodies and rural areas. There will be a protest in Kolkata tomorrow on 2nd June, Mamata Banerjee may participate in it. However, Mamata Banerjee held a press conference today and alleged that there was an attempt to break her party.
Mamta Banerjee said that the police is pressurizing TMC MLAs to leave the party and join BJP. Efforts are being made to weaken TMC by intimidating or bribing some MLAs and MPs. TMC workers are not being allowed to come out of their homes to protest and party offices are also being vandalized. Trinamool Congress MLAs are being intimidated by the police, the local police is also calling them. Police is also being sent to his house. I can’t go to his house.
Shubhendu cabinet expansion
However, in the cabinet expansion held today in Bengal, a total of 35 new ministers took oath. These include 13 Cabinet Ministers, 3 Ministers of State (Independent Charge) and 19 Ministers of State. Five ministers had already taken oath along with Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari. After the expansion, the total number of Bengal Cabinet has become 41 ministers, which is 3 less than the maximum limit of 44 ministers set for the 294-member Assembly, i.e. currently there are a total of 41 ministers in the Bengal government.
