
An important development has come to light in the case related to assets worth about ₹ 40,000 crore of the high-profile Scindia royal family of Gwalior. Regarding this dispute of family property, a 35-page compromise application was filed in the district court, especially before the bench of Judge Vishal Akhand.
During the hearing, the court directed to call for all the records from the record room to examine the documents related to the case. Now the next hearing has been fixed for July 20. In this famous family feud, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and his three aunts, including former Rajasthan Chief Ministers Vasundhara Raje and Yashodhara Raje, are involved. On their behalf, the lawyers presented documents related to the agreement in the court.
Many matters related to succession are pending for years
Let us tell you that many cases related to property ownership and inheritance are pending for years in different courts across the country including Gwalior, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune. Earlier during the last hearing, the court had directed all the parties to file a compromise application on the basis of mutual consent. Following this instruction, a 35-page compromise application has now been filed.
Next hearing on July 20
Now all eyes are on the next hearing to be held on July 20, where the court will decide the further action after examining the records. This property dispute has been a topic of public discussion for a long time, hence this development is being considered very important.
Which properties are at the center of the dispute?
The legacy of the Scindia family is spread in many cities of the country, but their main properties are in Gwalior.
- Jai Vilas Palace: This is a famous royal palace of Gwalior, which was built by Jayajirao Scindia in 1874. There is currently a museum in a part of the palace.
- Usha Kiran Palace: Located right next to the Jai Vilas Palace Complex, this property has been converted into a heritage hotel, run by the Taj Group.
- Chhoti Vishranthi and Hiranyavan Kothi: These are historical buildings and rest houses built inside the Scindia royal palace complex.
Some more properties of Scindia family
Apart from these, the Scindia family also has some other properties. Padma Vilas Palace in Pune, Samudra Mahal Flats in Mumbai, Lekha Vihar and Scindia Villa in Delhi, and the historic Kaliyadeh Palace in Ujjain are also considered part of this heritage.
