
Amid discussions of change of leadership and cabinet reshuffle in Karnataka, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and Home Minister G Parameshwara have reached Delhi. Amidst the discussions about changing the Chief Minister in the state, this visit is being considered very special. CM Siddaramaiah said on Monday that he has been invited by the Congress high command for a meeting in Delhi on May 26 (today). However, Siddaramaiah said that he had no information about the agenda of the meeting.
DK Shivakumar had earlier said that if the Congress high command calls him, he will go to Delhi, but later he confirmed that he is going. While avoiding answering the question of changing the Chief Minister, Shivkumar said that I do not know about it, I do not want to comment on it, it is not my job.
I don’t know about the agenda: CM
In response to a question asked about the Delhi visit, CM Siddaramaiah told reporters, I have been asked to come to Delhi. There is a meeting today at 11 o’clock. I don’t know about the agenda, but I have been invited. KC Venugopal (Congress General Secretary Organization) had called me and told me about the date of the meeting.
When asked about the speculations being made regarding his meeting with the high command, CM Siddaramaiah said that these speculations are always there. Some ministers considered close to the Chief Minister, like Satish Jarkiholi, G Parameshwara, H.C. Mahadevappa and some others have also reached Delhi.
What issues can be discussed?
According to sources, the Congress high command can discuss issues like Rajya Sabha elections, cabinet reshuffle and Legislative Council elections. Apart from this, the possibility of talks regarding coordination between the organization and the government is also being expressed. Congress’s Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said that discussions are going on within the party regarding the Rajya Sabha elections. He said that there should not be speculation on other issues. However, there is speculation in political circles about change of leadership and cabinet reshuffle after the completion of three years of Congress government in Karnataka on May 20.
