Central Government Employee Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme 2026 implemented Done. This new scheme has now replaced the old EPF scheme of 1952. The objective of the new scheme is to make the PF system more simple, digital and transparent. About 8 crore EPFO ​​members of the country are expected to benefit from this. If you work and PF is deducted from your salary every month, then the question in your mind will be whether only ₹ 1,800 will be deducted even on a salary of Rs 1 lakh?

How much PF will be deducted on a salary of ₹ 1 lakh?

According to the new rule, mandatory employee PF contribution will be applicable only up to the fixed salary limit of ₹15,000. This means that it will be necessary to deposit 12% of Rs 15,000 i.e. ₹ 1,800 per month. If your company is still deducting PF on your entire basic salary, then now any contribution of more than ₹ 1,800 will be considered voluntary. That means, if you want, you can deposit more PF, but it will depend on your wish.

Will the company also deposit more PF?

If an employee deposits more than ₹1,800 in PF, it is not necessary that the company also deposits the same amount. The company will have to make additional contribution only if it is already decided in the company policy or contract. Otherwise, the company will only make contributions as required by law.

No change in 12% rate of PF

The contribution rate of PF has not changed in the new EPF scheme 2026. Employees will contribute 12% as before. The company will also contribute 12%. In those institutions where 10% PF is already applicable, the old rule will continue. That is, in the new scheme it has only been made clear which contribution is mandatory and which is voluntary.

Rules for withdrawing PF also became easier

The rules for withdrawing PF have also been simplified in the new scheme. Now instead of many different rules, only three main categories have been created. Employees will be able to withdraw some part of PF under these circumstances. In this, you will be able to withdraw money as per the prescribed conditions for serious illness or treatment, children’s education and marriage, buying, building or repairing a house and in other special circumstances. With this, it will be easier for employees to understand the rules than before.
