Now something similar is going to happen in Mumbai Indians also. Mumbai Indians, which was the worst team of the season, is going to start its review in the next few days. The most important thing in this is the change in captaincy, in which there is another contender along with Jasprit Bumrah.
A media report has revealed that after the last season of Mumbai Indians, head coach Mahela Jayawardene has sent his report on the team’s performance to the management. After this report, the management will review this report in the coming week i.e. after July 19, in which everything from captaincy to the performance of the players will be discussed. The most important issue in this discussion will be the role of captaincy and the coach himself.
Coach Mahela Jayawardene’s future is also at stake but the biggest decision is regarding captaincy. A decision has to be taken as to who will lead the record 5-time champion Mumbai Indians in the coming season. The management can discuss two contenders to replace the current captain Hardik Pandya. The first name in this is that of star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who for the first time in his IPL career took charge of the team in a match last season itself. The other contender along with him in this race is young batsman Tilak Verma, who was also recently made the vice-captain of Team India.
As far as Hardik Pandya is concerned, the bet played on him was not successful. In the last 3 seasons, under the captaincy of Hardik, Mumbai remained the worst player twice, while reaching the playoffs once. Especially the last season was very bad, where Hardik himself could not bring life to the team even with his performance.
