There is news of a hot talk between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and US President Donald Trump regarding talks on the Iran nuclear deal. During the phone conversation, both the leaders scolded each other fiercely. This conversation took place on Tuesday (May 19). Trump Had called Netanyahu not to escalate the war with Iran, on which Netanyahu got very angry. The conversation between the two leaders lasted for more than 30 minutes.
According to Axios, Netanyahu said that Iran cannot be trusted. Iran is deliberately wasting time so that it can prepare for war again. Netanyahu told Trump that wars do not happen again and again.
Trump cited neighboring countries
After listening to Netanyahu, Trump said that Israel alone is not a priority for America in the Middle East. We have also talked to other neighboring countries on phone. Everyone wants talks, so we are going to give priority to talks. Trump further told Netanyahu that there is a world of diplomacy too. That takes time.
Axios quoted White House sources as saying that Trump told Netanyahu that Qatar and other mediators are working on a letter that both America and Iran will sign so that the war can formally end. The Israeli Prime Minister was very angry after the phone conversation with Trump.
Why does Benjamin Netanyahu want war?
1. Iran seems to have the upper hand in the issues on which agreements are being negotiated between America and Iran. In the context of the Middle East, this is a blow to Israel. Because, if the position of the Islamic Republic in Iran becomes stronger, the tension between Tel Aviv may increase in the future.
2. Netanyahu is trapped in internal politics. Israel’s opposition leaders have joined hands against Netanyahu. Naftali Bennett is continuously criticizing him regarding the war. Netanyahu is trying to gain renewed popularity by starting a war in Iran.
3. Israel feels that a better opportunity than this cannot come ahead. At present, Iran’s top leaders have either been killed or are cut off from the public. The army has also faltered. Netanyahu wants to turn this disaster into an opportunity.
