While talking in an interview about losing the opportunity to work in ‘Digger’, Fahadh Faasil told that when his audition was taken, Alejandro G. Iñárritu was not satisfied with his accent. He also told that he was asked to go to the US to correct his accent.

Talking further about this, Fahadh Faasil said, “I was asked to go to the US and stay for three-four months to improve my accent, but they were not ready to pay for it. So I left this opportunity, otherwise, I would have happily gone. The commercial aspects of it were not sitting well. Also, I did not have the passion to struggle so much just for the accent.”
Audition took place on video call
Fahadh Faasil also says that if the audition had not happened, things might have been different. He had a virtual meeting with the film maker. Regarding this he said, “I spoke to him on video call, maybe during that conversation he realized that ‘Hey, this is not the person I am looking for.’ Such things keep happening. There are many films which I lost during such meetings.”
Create separate identity in Malayalam
Actor Fahadh further said, “All the magic of my life has happened here in Malayalam, hence, if any new change comes in the future, I would like it to be in Malayalam only. I do not think that I will leave Kerala for this. If any project comes which will give me a new identity in some way, I would like it to be in Malayalam only.”
