During the ‘Sankalp Samavesh’ program in Bengaluru, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge got angry at the party workers. You can gauge his displeasure from the fact that he even called the workers from the stage as useless fellows and also reprimanded them fiercely. In fact, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge was addressing the party leaders and the public from the stage in the ‘Sankalp Samavesh’ program. Meanwhile, some workers started raising slogans of ‘DK-DK’ in support of Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Angered by the sloganeering, Kharge reprimanded the workers from the stage and even called them ‘useless people’.
Kharge got angry due to sloganeering
The video of this entire matter has also surfaced. In which it can be clearly seen how much Kharge got enraged by this sloganeering. His anger is clearly visible from his facial expression. However, Chief Minister DK Shivkumar and Congress leader Randeep Surjewala present at the program tried to pacify the people. Even Shivkumar stood up and gestured with his hand and asked him to keep quiet, but by then Kharge’s anger had reached its peak.
‘This program is a party program…’
Irked by the sloganeering, Kharge angrily reminded the workers that this program was a party program and not a program focused on any individual leader. Kharge said, ‘Will the entire country be affected by shouting here? This is not an individual’s programme, it is a party’s programme. You useless people. Individuals are not worshiped here, we are here for the party program which brings us all together. He made it clear that in Congress the party is bigger than the individual and the workers will have to remain disciplined.

‘So the rest of the people have come here to sweep the floor?…’
Expressing displeasure over the disruption in the programme, Kharge raised the question that if a handful of people were going to disrupt the program with their slogans, then what was the purpose of other people participating in the programme. He said, if one person shouts one thing and another person shouts something else, then why have the rest come here? Has he come to sweep the floor? He said that the purpose of the program is being defeated due to sloganeering by some people.
‘Has 58 years of experience…’
Highlighting his decades-long political career, the Congress President reminded the gathering that his identity is linked to the Congress Party and the party remains his foundation. He said, ‘I have political experience of 58 years. Many leaders have come here, although their contribution to the party is less, but the party has made a huge contribution to them’, he said, reminding that the workers’ identity is with the Congress and not with any one leader.
Action will be taken after seeing the footage
Kharge warned those creating ruckus that disciplinary action would be taken against those responsible for the disruption. He said that the footage of the incident will be reviewed to identify the culprits. He said, ‘Remember, discipline is always important for the party. There will be footage of whoever is shouting here. After reviewing the footage, I will take disciplinary action.
