During the meeting that lasted for about two and a half hours, cross voting in the Karnataka Legislative Council elections was discussed. According to sources, meanwhile, suspicion of cross voting has been raised against more than a dozen BJP leaders. BJP High Command has asked for a report regarding this.

According to sources, in the meeting that lasted for about two and a half hours, the BJP state leadership put forward the names of about a dozen MLAs in the meeting. The state leadership has expressed suspicion of cross voting on these MLAs. According to sources, BJP President Nitin Naveen has asked the state leadership who did cross voting and why. However, it is not yet known which of them did cross voting. He has asked the state leadership to find out this soon. The report of the committee formed under the leadership of CT Ravi has also not come yet. The central leadership of the party is waiting for the report. Once the committee’s investigation report comes, further action will be taken.

Despite not having numbers, JD(S) fielded candidates

Apart from this, it was told in the meeting with the central leadership that JD (S) did not have the numbers, yet they fielded a candidate due to which they had to face defeat. The state leadership of BJP had also discussed this matter with the leadership of JD (S) and was asked not to field the candidate. But despite this, JD (S) fielded its candidate in the elections.

Order to submit detailed report by June 25

Some JDS MLAs were already angry with his leadership and BJP had also warned them about this. But the matter could not be resolved. At the same time, Nitin Naveen addressed Karnataka BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R. Instructions have been issued to Ashok. He has asked both the leaders to submit their detailed report on this entire matter by June 25, 2026. It is believed that on the basis of this report, BJP high command can take major action against the MLAs who cross-voting.

What did the BJP state president say?

BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra said that opposition leader R. Along with Ashok and senior leaders, we have had a meeting with BJP national president Nitin Nabin to submit an initial report on the cross-voting that took place during the recently held MLC elections. This matter has been taken very seriously and a fact-finding committee has already been formed to investigate. Further action will be taken on the basis of the committee’s report.
