The health of the student who went home during holidays deteriorated
This incident took place in Vadaputti village of Gummalakshmipuram mandal. Bhuvaneshwari, who lives here, is a class seven student of Bhadragiri Tribal Welfare Girls Ashram School. His father had passed away some time ago. She is studying under the supervision of her uncle. Recently, Bhuvaneshwari, who reached home during holidays, developed high fever. The administration came into action as soon as the information was received
As soon as information was received about the serious condition of the student, Tribal Welfare Department officer Rajni instructed Ashram School warden Hema to immediately go to the village and take the student to the hospital. Without wasting any time, the warden reached Vadaputti village and after seeing the condition of the student, she understood that delay in treatment could prove fatal.
There was no road, so she carried it on her back and walked 6 kilometers.
The biggest challenge was the absence of road to the village. The situation in the area was such that bicycles could not reach there. In such a situation, Warden Hema did not accept defeat. She tied the student on her back like a doli and walked about six kilometers through rough mountain roads and footpaths to reach Nellikekuva village. After reaching there, a vehicle was arranged, through which the student was immediately taken to Parvathipuram Government Hospital.
Treatment going on in hospital, condition stable
Doctors at Parvatipuram Government Hospital immediately started providing treatment to the student. At present his condition is said to be stable. His life could be saved by reaching the hospital on time. Local people say that if Warden Hema had not shown courage and promptness, the situation could have been serious.
Local villagers and tribal community say that even today, in emergency situations, patients have to be taken to the hospital with the help of shoulders or makeshift dollies. He has demanded the government to strengthen roads, ambulances and health facilities in tribal areas, so that in future, no patient’s life is in danger merely due to lack of basic facilities.
