He remained trapped in the whale’s mouth for about 30 to 40 seconds. He had scuba gear to breathe, but the fear that was inside him cannot even be imagined. Then suddenly the whale also realized that he had put something in his mouth which was not his food. The whale quickly came to the surface of the ocean, shook its head and threw the Packard back into the water, tossing it into the air. Packard’s fellow fisherman immediately pulled him out of the water and took him to the hospital. It was a miracle that even after such a big accident, Packard did not have any broken bones, only a few scratches and minor injuries. The doctors discharged him from the hospital the same day.
