When ‘Sayara’ director Mohit Suri left romance and brought horror, this was the situation at the box office.

Mohit Suri Horror Movie: By directing ‘Sayara’, Mohit Suri once again proved that making romantic films is his biggest strength. Aneet and Ahaan starrer, this film earned more than Rs 500 crore at the box office and made its place among the biggest hits of the year. Now Mohit Suri is once again coming with a new romantic film with Anit and Ahaan, which is being made under the banner of Yash Raj Films. Although Mohit Suri is known for romantic films, but once he deviated from this image and tried his hand in horror genre.

Mohit Suri’s first and so far only horror film was ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’. This film, released 17 years ago, got a good response from the audience and did decent business at the box office as well. The film got the status of semi hit. After this, Mohit Suri did not turn towards horror films again and again focused his attention on romantic films.

Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut were seen in lead roles in ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’, released in 2009. This film was the second installment of the famous ‘Raaz’ franchise, in which along with horror, there was a tremendous element of suspense and supernatural elements. The story and scary sequences of the film were liked a lot by the audience at that time.

Raaz: The Mystery Continues Budget-Collection

According to Sacknilk, the budget of this film was around Rs 15 crore. After its theatrical release, the film collected around Rs 36.17 crore at the worldwide box office. Despite the low budget, the film’s earnings were good, due to which it was considered a semi-hit at the box office.

However, after ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’, Mohit Suri stayed away from horror films. He paid more attention to romantic and romantic-thriller films like ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Ek Villain’, ‘Hamari Adhuri Kahani’, ‘Malang’ and ‘Sayara’. This is the reason why today he is recognized among the successful romantic directors of Bollywood.

If you have not seen ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’ yet, then it can be watched on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video. This film is also considered special in Mohit Suri’s career because it is his first and so far last horror film. After this, he never returned to this genre and continuously created his own identity through romantic films.
