The US State Department has openly come together with Pakistan amid intermittent violent clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The US State Department said in a statement that ‘it supports the right of Pakistan to defend itself from terrorist attacks. Pakistanis have suffered a lot at the hands of terrorists.

In February, a fierce conflict broke out between Afghanistan and Pakistan. On February 21, Pakistan carried out air strikes in Nangarhar, Paktika and Khost provinces of Afghanistan. In response to this, the Afghan army also started retaliatory attacks on Pakistan. Since then, violent clashes have continued between the two countries.

28 people from Afghanistan killed in Pakistan’s air strike

The United Nations said on Monday that at least 28 civilians were killed and 49 injured in an airstrike conducted by Pakistan on the border with Afghanistan on June 27. This action of Pakistan was taken after 3 Pakistani soldiers were killed at the headquarters of Sindh Rangers in Karachi. Pakistan had blamed ‘Jamaat-ul-Ahrar’, a group associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), for this attack.

Tension between the two countries is at its peak

After the June 27 attack, the Afghan Taliban had said in their statement that they carried out an airstrike in Pakistani territory. At the same time, Islamabad said that its army intercepted and shot down four initial drones in Balochistan. After this, air strikes were conducted in three provinces of Afghanistan, Paktia, Paktika and Kunar. Destroyed Taliban arms and ammunition stores. At present, tension between the two countries is at its peak. Taliban has vowed to avenge Pakistan’s attack.

Washington sided with Pakistan

Now Washington has supported Pakistan’s attack on Afghanistan. It has said that it supports the right of Pakistan to defend itself from terrorist attacks. This clearly means that Washington considers the Afghan Taliban a terrorist group. Apart from this, Pakistan is a major non-NATO ally of Washington. Relations between Washington and Islamabad have improved since President Donald Trump returned to the White House. Pakistan has also been a mediator in efforts to resolve the US-Israel war with Iran.

Pakistan has been making these allegations against Afghanistan

Let us tell you that Islamabad often accuses Afghanistan of giving shelter to those militants whom it considers responsible for the attacks on it. On the other hand, Afghan Taliban denies these allegations. He says that militancy is an internal problem of Pakistan. Pakistan is shifting the blame for its security failures from others.
