Google AI Threat Defense: In view of the increasing threat of software hacking through AI tools, Google has now introduced an AI powered cyber security tool, which will be known as Google AI Threat Defense. At the same time, Google describes its new tool as an AI powered cyber security solution which continuously monitors AI threats and stops them before they can impact the business. Before Google, Anthropic had launched cyber security focused AI model Claude Mythos in April. After Anthropic, in May 2026, OpenAI introduced the Daybreak platform, which was built on GPT 5.5.
What does Google’s AI Threat Defense do?
Google Cloud’s COO and President of Security Products, Francis D’Souza, has informed through a blog post that AI threat defense helps organizations to predict attack paths, give priority to the biggest threats and rapidly deploy verified fixes before enemies can take advantage.
According to Google, one of the biggest problems with current AI cybersecurity systems is that they burden security teams with thousands of AI-generated alerts. Anthropic Mythos and OpenAI Daybreak can rapidly detect large numbers of vulnerabilities overnight. However, in the real world, not every weakness is dangerous.
Google’s AI Threat Defense system is a platform that integrates code scanning with cloud-security platform Wiz and checks whether a vulnerability is actually accessible from the Internet or exposed through live network configuration.
If there is a very serious flaw in the code but it is completely isolated, the system lowers its priority. This allows developers and security teams to focus only on active threats that attackers can actually exploit.
