‘Mera Bharat, Mera Contribution’ campaign

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had taken many important decisions in May this year. This included 2 days WFH every week, change in office timings and a ban on official foreign travel for the next one year. All these steps were taken under the “My India, My Contribution” campaign of the city government.

The campaign was started after PM Modi’s appeal

This campaign was started after the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On May 10, PM Modi had appealed to the countrymen to reduce the consumption of petrol and diesel amid the West Asia crisis, avoid non-essential foreign travel, reduce the purchase of gold and adopt other measures to save fuel. Saving foreign exchange was the main objective of this campaign.

There was advice in private sector also

CM Rekha Gupta had said at that time that private companies would also be advised to allow their employees to work from home 2 days a week wherever possible. The same system was implemented in government offices also. The Labor Department was given the responsibility of implementing it in the private sector. The Chief Minister had also said that after the PM’s appeal, it has been decided to start this campaign. Under the campaign, government officials and ministers will travel by metro on Monday so that the message of fuel saving is sent.
