Security and organizational preparations have been started for the funeral of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khanemai’s funeral procession will begin on July 4, while he will be buried in Mashhad on July 9. During this period, more than 2 crore people can attend his funeral programs. However, the biggest question is whether his son Mujtaba Khanemai will come to bury his father?
After his father was killed and he himself was injured in the US attack, Mujtaba has not been seen anywhere in public. But it is believed that he may attend the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The basis behind this is believed to be the war-like preparations for Khamenei’s funeral and the order for all three armies to remain on full alert.
Khanemai’s last funeral program will be grand
Iran’s military has announced that airspace security will be tightened during Khanemi’s funeral. Four temporary camps will also be set up in and around Tehran for pilgrims coming from India and abroad. Iranian army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akarminiya said that the funeral ceremony will be organized in a dignified and grand manner.
General Mohammad Akarminia further said that ‘along with the huge participation of the Iranian people in bidding farewell to the martyred leader, the army will also continue its service. The Army is ready to play an effective role in protecting national security, providing public services and making formal arrangements to welcome foreign guests attending the event.
All three armies on high alert mode
Akraminiya also announced tighter security measures on Iran’s land and air borders. He said that the border security has been strengthened by the additional deployment of ground troops of the army. He said that Iran’s air defense force will constantly keep an eye on the country’s skies. Besides strengthening the security of the national airspace, they will also control air traffic during the surge in travel and foreign flights related to celebrations.
Army built 4 camps for pilgrims
Akraminiya said the army has set up four temporary camps in and around Tehran to provide accommodation, food and medical and health services to the pilgrims and event participants. Army helicopter units and aviation rescue teams will be deployed on high traffic routes to provide emergency relief and medical assistance.
Medical facilities also arranged for pilgrims
General Mohammad Akraminiya said the army’s urban and mobile hospitals, using their wartime experience, would deploy medical teams to Tehran’s mosallah and pilgrimage routes to provide essential health services. He also said that the Army’s logistics units and support centers will help in transportation, supply needs, welfare services and accommodation arrangements. Besides, they will also provide necessary facilities to religious service centers and pilgrim centers.
