Viral Video: There was no ticket, there were many excuses! Passenger wanted to escape by pointing out the shortcomings of Railways, TTE taught him a lesson

June 10, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Every day crores of people reach their destination by train through Indian Railways. Railways also admits to improving its service from time to time and claims to take several steps to improve passenger facilities. However, it is also true that passengers sometimes have to face overcharging, lack of cleanliness, overcrowding or other problems. But can a person get the right to travel without a ticket on the basis of these shortcomings? Recently one went viral on social media Video Has again brought this question into discussion.

In the viral video, a passenger is seen traveling in a train without a ticket. When the ticket checker (TTE) asks him to show the ticket, instead of accepting his mistake, he starts counting the faults of the Railways. The passenger believed that by raising questions on the Railway’s arrangements, he would justify his ticketless journey and perhaps even escape the fine, but despite listening to his arguments, the TTE considered it necessary to follow the rules and took action against him.

TTE taught the law by imposing fine

It can be seen in the video that the passenger raises the issue of alleged overcharging in the railways. He says that things like tea and water are sold in trains at more than the prescribed price. He claimed that the same situation is seen in many trains and he himself has experienced this by traveling in many trains. The passenger even says that even in premium trains like Vande Bharat, more money is charged from the passengers.

However, TTE concentrates on his work instead of debating his points. He starts taking information of the passenger as per the rules. During this, the TTE also inquires about the child who was traveling with the passenger. He wants to know the name and age of the child so that travel details can be entered correctly. The passenger tells the age of the child to be six years, while the TTE is busy completing the fine process.

Throughout the conversation, the passenger repeatedly tries to strengthen his position by highlighting the shortcomings of the Railways, but the TTE clearly understands that the shortcomings of the Railways and ticketless travel are two different issues. If any passenger has a complaint about the railway service, there is a prescribed complaint system in place. He can complain to the concerned authorities, use the online portal or express his views under consumer rights. But traveling in violation of rules cannot be considered appropriate under any circumstances.

This brother was traveling without a ticket and when TT caught him and started imposing fine, he started counting the shortcomings of Railways, water is expensive, tea is overcharged, pantries loot.

Meaning, first break the rules yourself, and when you are caught, instead of being ashamed of your theft, come forward pic.twitter.com/kli3OnUJpi
