The courageous action of a policeman in Surat city of Gujarat is in discussion among the people these days. Where the guy, without caring for his own life, saved the life of a person who was trying to end his own life. This brave step was not only praised by the common citizens, but senior leaders of the state government also praised the work done by the police team.
According to media reports, this incident took place on June 8 in a multi-story residential building located in Laskana area of Surat. According to the police, a woman called the emergency number and informed that her husband had allegedly swallowed poisonous substance and was locked inside the house. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, as soon as the woman’s information was received, the police control room immediately dispatched the Dial-112 team to the spot.
How did the policemen enter inside?
As soon as information about the incident was received, the team of Laskana Police Station became active. Along with the police, fire brigade and ambulance were also sent to the spot. When the rescue team reached there, there was a big challenge ahead. The door of the flat was locked from inside and it was not easy to reach inside normally. In such a situation, every passing moment could become a threat to the life of the other person.
Understanding the seriousness of the situation, the policemen immediately chose the alternative route. Meanwhile, police constable Shailesh Chudasama and driver Kirpal Singh Gohil took help from the people living in the neighboring flat. After discussion, they planned to enter the flat through the window.
The plan was as difficult as it was risky. To reach the flat situated at the height of the seventh floor, Constable Shailesh Chudasama took the help of the external security net (grill) of the building. With extreme caution and courage he moved outside and succeeded in reaching the window. His attempt looked like a film scene. After reaching inside the flat, they saw that the young man had consumed poisonous substance and his health was deteriorating rapidly. Shailesh Chudasama immediately controlled the situation and took possession of the remaining poisonous substance present with the man so that he could not cause any further harm.

Later, while talking to the media, Chudasama told that when he reached inside, the condition of the young man was very critical. He had swallowed some poisonous substance and because of that he was vomiting. They immediately took care of him and started the process of getting him out safely. Considering the urgency of time, the police team did not consider it right to wait for the ambulance. The young man was quickly brought down and preparations were made to take him to the hospital in a police vehicle. The ambulance team met him on the way, after which the patient was immediately taken to the hospital under the supervision of medical personnel.

According to the information, the injured youth works in the famous diamond factory of Surat. His work there is related to diamond cutting and polishing. His life was saved due to timely help and promptness of the police. At present his treatment is going on and doctors are monitoring him.
