Recently such a case has come to light from Cubbonpet area of Bengaluru, which anyone will be surprised to hear. Usually, the thieves who run away after snatching a mobile phone throw dust in the eyes of the police and get fooled, but this time the tables were turned completely. The intelligence and on-the-spot action of a common laborer not only foiled the incident of mobile theft, but the entire drama also ended in the death of the thief.
According to a hidden report in TOI, this entire incident happened on the evening of June 16. Basavaraju M., a lawyer by profession, was standing on a road in Cubbonpet and searching for a location on his mobile. He was busy on the phone, when two boys riding a scooter passed by him and in the blink of an eye snatched the phone from his hand and started running away. Basavaraju immediately raised an alarm and ran after them, shouting ‘thief, thief’. It was evening time and there was a fair amount of activity on the road. Hearing Basavaraju’s voice, the people present there became active, but no one could keep up with the speed of the thieves.
The whole game changed in a second
Meanwhile, a laborer working nearby showed amazing agility. Without wasting a moment, he picked up a heavy sack kept with him and threw it with full force towards the running scooter. The aim was absolutely spot on. The sack directly hit the scooter, due to which the balance was disturbed and both the thieves fell face down on the road.
As soon as he fell on the road, the snatched mobile phone was lost from his hand. However, seeing themselves surrounded, both the accused did not lose courage. He left the scooter there and started running towards the streets on foot. The real shocking twist came next. Leaving the scooter, both of them had run about 250 meters when one of the accused, identified as 18-year-old Junaid, suddenly fell on the road holding his chest. By the time people or police could reach him, he had died on the spot. Later, police investigation revealed that Junaid was already suffering from heart disease. Due to fear of being caught stealing, sudden running and panic, he suffered a massive cardiac arrest on the spot, which proved fatal. However, his other accomplice, who is 23 years old, failed to escape and was caught by the police.
After the incident, there was a flood of reactions on social media also. A large number of people are praising the laborer and calling him brave. Many users say that he tried to stop the criminals without caring much about his safety, which is commendable. On the other hand, some people are also linking this incident with luck and karma.
