Viral Video: More work, less salary and increasing stress took away peace, the man resigned and changed his life.

July 3, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Working long hours in the office, handling ever-increasing responsibilities and getting less than expected salary in return, this problem is not the problem of just one person. Almost every employee at one time or the other thinks that they should leave the job, but household responsibilities, loans, family expectations and tension about the future stop people from taking such a step. Still, there comes a time when a person starts considering his mental peace more important than money. A professional resident of Bengaluru also took a similar decision and left his job without any other job in hand.

Pramod was working on the post of Senior Analyst in the same company for the last four years. From outside his job looked good, but inside the story was completely different. By sharing a video on social media, he said that he was constantly being asked to work more in the company. Being senior, new responsibilities also came to him. Every difficult task was sent to him and he was expected to handle everything without any complaint. But when it came to salary, he felt that he was not getting the right price for his hard work.

Increasing responsibilities and decreasing income

Pramod says that his salary was so low that at times he felt as if there was not much difference between the salary received by a fresher or an intern. He believed that responsibilities increased, but income remained almost the same. This thing gradually started weighing heavily on his mind. He also openly told people about his struggle. Pramod said that his parents had taken a loan to educate him. After completing his studies, he started working so that he could repay the loan quickly and reduce the burden on the family. He hoped that with increasing experience the salary would also improve and financial problems would end. But even after working for many years, his earnings did not increase as expected. Despite continuous hard work, when one does not get the desired results, it is natural to feel disappointed.

Pramod also adopted a slightly humorous style in his video. He wrote that the tea seller in his area is also earning around Rs 2 lakh a month. His aim was not to make anyone’s work look small, but to show that sometimes even after working hard in a corporate job, people do not get as much income as they expect. Through this comparison, he raised questions about his disappointment and the system. At the beginning of the video, Pramod says smilingly that the glow visible on his face today has a special reason for it. He tells that today he has resigned from his job. According to him, after a long time he feels like he has taken a big decision for himself. He says that when he worked hard continuously for a year and got only six percent salary increase in return, he wondered why there was so much hustle and stress.

A lot of money is being spent on treatment

Pramod told that the difference in his annual increased salary was only around two thousand rupees every month. According to him, it is not at all wise to take daily stress and lose the happiness of personal life for such a small increase. He started feeling that his job was having a negative impact on his mental health.

He also told that due to constant stress and pressure he had to seek help from Psychiatrists. Pramod went to a psychiatrist, where the fee for the first consultation alone was two thousand rupees. After this he was advised stress management therapy, the fee for one session was around three thousand rupees. Then he realized that more money was being spent on reducing mental stress than the annual increase for which he was working throughout the year. This forced him to think that what is the benefit of a job which takes away both a person’s health and peace.

However, Pramod has decided to leave the job without any new job. He still has a loan burden on him and the path ahead is not entirely easy. Still, he says that the biggest relief he is getting at the moment is mental peace. He believes that money is important, but if job leads to stress, anxiety and fatigue every day, then after some time a person needs to rethink his priorities.

This story of Pramod is rapidly attracting people’s attention on social media. Many people are praising his decision and saying that mental health is more important than any job. At the same time, some people believe that resigning without another job is a risky decision, especially when there are responsibilities like loans.
