Viral Video: Comedian Madhur Virali made fun of serious issues like rape and murder, people said – stop this nonsense in the name of comedy!

These days the world of comedy is surrounded by controversies regarding some people. First, the second runner-up of Bigg Boss Season 19 and famous stand-up comedian Praneet More came under public attack for one of his shows, and now another comedian Madhur Virli is being trolled due to his old performance. People’s anger has erupted against both these artists on social media.

Praneet More’s case was not yet settled when internet users discovered an old video of another comedian Madhur Virali. This clip is from Madhur’s show Love & Latex of the year 2024. While sharing this video on Instagram, a user wrote that please stop this nonsense and disgusting acts in the name of comedy.

What statement did Madhur give?

In this video, Madhur Virali says something very objectionable on a sensitive and serious issue like rape. Referring to a hypothetical situation, he said that if the victim is murdered in one of the 10 rape cases, then what is going on in the mind of the criminal at that time. He was seen making fun of the criminal’s thinking and commenting on it. People did not like such a heinous crime and making fun of the victim’s pain.

As soon as the video went viral, people got angry with Madhur. Netizens got angry and took Madhur to task. People say that in which direction are these comedians going these days? How can someone be so insensitive and mean? Granted, a man may not be able to fully understand the fear, pain and trauma that a woman goes through, but how can humanity stoop to this level? It is beyond my understanding how a person can think and say such things. Most people believed that this was not a comedy from any angle, but merely a display of mental bankruptcy and disgusting thinking.

After being surrounded from all sides and continuous trolling and criticism on social media, Madhur Virli has come on the backfoot and deactivated his Instagram account. However, people’s anger has still not subsided and a new debate has started on ‘where do the limits of comedy end’.
