Viral Video: Chennai’s beach seemed better than England’s, foreigner broke this perception about India

June 18, 2026 by Uma Shankar

These days, the video of a British traveler who came to visit India is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this video, he has declared many misconceptions spread on the internet about India as wrong. Digital content creator Jack Heaton shared a video on his Insta account. Which went viral among the people within no time. In the video, Jack is seen on the famous Marina Beach of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu.

Marina Beach is counted among the largest urban beaches in the world and is considered the second largest urban beach. After reaching here, Jack appeared quite surprised, because the reality was quite different from what he had seen on social media. In the video, he showed thousands of people present on the beach and said that despite such a huge crowd, there is a lot of cleanliness visible around. He told that he had expected that there would be a lot of filth here, but it was not so at all. Jack said that some garbage was seen at some places on the beach, but it was very less compared to the amount of crowd present.

What did you say about Marina Beach?

Expressing surprise, he said that despite the presence of about ten thousand people, the beach looked clean. According to him, he was quite surprised to see this. Jack also said that some selected pictures and videos of India are often shown on social media, due to which a different image is created in the minds of people.

He also shared his opinion regarding the quality of water. Jack said that he liked the sea water of Marina Beach better than many beaches in England. Although he also clarified that he is not calling it a sea with clean and blue water like Maldives, but it is not as bad as many people think. He jokingly said that this is not a postcard perfect place, but he was happy to see the condition here.

According to him, things that shock people or create negative reactions are often more viral on the Internet. This is the reason why positive pictures of any country are not discussed that much. After the video went viral, people also started giving their reactions on social media. Many Indian users said that a one-sided picture of India is often presented abroad. People believe that the diversity, culture, modern cities and clean places here are not given as much importance as some negative incidents.
