According to the report of Global Times, this hair-raising incident took place in Hangzhou city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. A snake farm located in Dengwei village here could not withstand the strong waves of flood and was completely destroyed. According to village officials, due to the sudden rise in flood water on the morning of July 6, the walls of the farm broke and about 800 to 900 snakes being reared there went straight into the residential areas. In the video going viral on social media, snakes can be seen swimming in water and hiding on the balconies of people’s houses.
Fear of poisonous snakes like cobra and king rat
Wu Xie, head of the village’s Dengwei Village Committee, said that in this farm there are mainly three types of snakes: poisonous cobra (Cobra), King Rat (King Rat) and some non-venomous water snakes were domesticated. Although officials say that water snakes are more in number among flowing snakes, but the presence of cobra snakes has given sleepless nights to the villagers.
Many people became victims, the situation increased due to shortage of medicines.
So far, there have been reports of snake bites to many people due to these creatures hidden in the flood waters. A villager was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The biggest matter of concern is that the people of the village are stranded due to water all around and due to the flood, there is a severe shortage of essential medical supplies and anti-venom in the area.

Villagers set out to hunt snakes with bamboo sticks

These people are risking their lives and catching swimming snakes with the help of bamboo sticks and nets so that they can save the lives of their neighbours.
