
Vir Das Fake Apple Watch: Comedian and actor Veer Das has told that he had booked an Apple Watch from quick commerce delivery app Zepto, but a fake Apple Watch was sent by the company. He had bought this watch for about Rs 50 thousand. He shared the video of that fake watch on his social media platforms and raised questions on the working of the company and called it a scam. He told that at first the customer care people clearly told him that they could not do anything in this matter. However, later Veer Das clarified in a post that he has now been sent the original Apple Watch.

With 7.1 million followers Veer Das As soon as the post regarding fake Apple Watch was posted on social media, people started expressing their anger in the comments. After this, a reply was received from Zepto Cares, “Hey, we do not aim to provide such an experience and I want to fix it for you. Can you share your order details and contact number with us through direct message? We will look into the matter immediately as soon as we receive these details.”
“China’s goods were sent back”
The effect of the social media post was that within some time the company delivered the original Apple Watch to Veer Das and the fake product was withdrawn. Giving information about the replacement, Veer wrote, “Update. After the social media post, Zepto has been in touch and a genuine Apple Watch has been sent. The Chinese item has been sent back. I don’t know why this is in the news, but because it is… Let me tell you about what I told the Zepto executive. It was not the driver’s (delivery agent) fault.” According to Veer, the company has told him that they are not taking any action against the delivery partner in this matter.

Veer Das talked to the company in DM and has also shared its screenshot. In this, Zepto said, “We take such incidents seriously and have initiated the process of recalling the product, which is our standard process in such cases. This will help us investigate the matter with our brand partners. In case of high value products, users receive an OTP at the time of delivery. The OTP should be given only after ensuring that the package is properly sealed and in good condition.”
