
India’s humanitarian relief mission has reached earthquake-hit Venezuela. This mission has arrived with a field hospital, medicines and medical equipment to help in rescue and relief operations. This help is being delivered to Venezuela through Operation Amistad.
Along with relief material, Indian Army’s field hospital unit, medicines and medical equipment have also reached Venezuela. This assistance will strengthen the ongoing relief and rescue operations after the earthquake.
India has expressed confidence that field hospital units and medical assistance will play an important role in the treatment and relief operations of the affected people. India has once again reiterated its commitment towards humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) in times of crisis. Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar shared a post on social media X, in which he informed about India’s help reaching Venezuela.

The plane left on June 26
Under this operation, on the morning of 26 June 2026, two C-17 Globemaster aircraft of the Indian Air Force left for Venezuela. These planes were carrying humanitarian relief material and a rescue team of 41 members, which would help in the relief and rescue operations going on there. The relief material includes a self-reliant Indian Medical Task Force, Indian Army field hospital unit with HADR pallets and medicines, 30 tonnes of relief material, 6 tonnes of medicines and medical equipment and 2 BHISHM Cube portable hospitals.
Team of 41 members arrived
This team of 41 members includes experienced rescue workers and medical professionals. This team will work closely with Venezuelan authorities in search and rescue operations, emergency medical care and humanitarian relief operations in the affected areas. In this difficult time, India stands shoulder to shoulder with the government and people of Venezuela. The Government of India has expressed deep condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. It was assured by the Ministry of External Affairs that India will remain in constant touch with the Venezuelan government and will be ready to provide further assistance if needed.
