July 19, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Lakhimpur News: A very interesting and unique sight was seen in the Tehsil Samadhan Diwas organized on Saturday in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, when a 13-year-old child in the queue of complainants went straight to the top officials of the district. The frank, serious and unique manner in which this student studying in class 8 presented his family troubles and problems before the District Magistrate (DM), not only won the hearts of the officers present there but also forced them to think. This innocence and wit of the child is now being discussed in the entire state.

Its video has also gone viral on social media. 13-year-old student Amitabh Gupta, resident of Idgah locality of the city, had himself come to Samadhan Diwas with his application to help his mother. Amitabh told the officials about his financial condition with utmost seriousness and honesty. Masoom said that in today’s era of inflation, it has become very difficult to meet the expenses of his house. Only Rs 50 worth of vegetables are brought to the house every day, due to which the entire family is not able to survive.

The student appealed to the DM and said that his aunt had forcibly locked a part of his ancestral house in Idgah locality. Crying, she said that sir, if somehow that lock gets opened, her mother will take that part on rent. The monthly rent received from it will help in lighting the stove of their house easily and the family will be free from poverty.

Innocent child raised questions on the system directly to DM

While presenting his application, this little boy expressed his views directly to the District Magistrate regarding the rising inflation and education system in the country. Amitabh told the DM in a questioning tone that his elder sister has passed 9th class, but now she is not getting free books and notebooks from the government, which is affecting her further studies. The child shocked the administrative officials by saying that his mother earns only Rs 3,000 a month. In today’s era of inflation, it has become completely impossible to run a household and educate children with such a small amount of money.

‘Sir, I don’t want to see it… just get it done!’

Hearing such big and practical things from the mouth of a 13 year old child brought a smile and a sense of surprise together on the faces of the officers sitting in the Samadhan Diwas. Considering the seriousness of the matter and the innocence of the child, the DM immediately instructed the local police to go to the spot and investigate. Inspector Rajesh Singh, who was present on the spot, patted the child’s back and consoled him, saying, ‘Son, don’t worry, we will look into your matter today itself.’

As soon as he heard the inspector’s words, Amitabh without wasting a moment said, ‘Sir, I don’t want to see… just get it done!’ Hearing this witty and outspoken style of the child, all the small and big officers and employees present in the hall, including the District Magistrate, burst out laughing.

This outspokenness of Amitabh forced the officials to take immediate action. After the strict instructions of the District Magistrate, the team of the police department was immediately sent to the house of the victim’s family so that the dispute of the lock installed by Tai could be resolved and the education of this promising child’s sister and the livelihood of the family could be ensured. Now the courage and wit of this small child is being praised a lot on digital media.
