According to astrology, rotis are considered to be related to Sun and Mars. Eating rotis gives energy, strength and sharpness to the body, whereas Mars is considered to be the factor of enthusiasm, courage and hard work, hence fresh rotis maintain positive energy in the body and keep the body balanced.

Relation of stale flour to Rahu

In astrology, stale flour is considered to be related to Rahu. Rahu is the planet responsible for confusion, instability, mental confusion and negative thoughts. When family members eat rotis made from stale flour, the influence of Rahu increases on them. Due to increasing influence of Rahu, confusion, tension and mutual disputes increase in their mind. The atmosphere at home becomes unstable and discord begins in the family.

It is said in Dharmasindhu, Niranyasindhu and Smriti texts, Ratrau Sandhya Samaye Cha Yat Bhuktam Tat Basi Bhavati. This means that food or flour kept overnight is considered stale by the morning, so it should not be used.
