US Vice President JD Vance, who went to Switzerland to talk with Iran, seems to be stuck in his own country. Two days ago, in one of his statements, Vance had expressed a lot of “love” for Islamabad. This loving feeling of his is not being liked in his own country and party. Two Republican senators of America targeted Vance. He also pointed towards the history of Pakistan and Qatar “providing shelter to terrorists”.
Senator Rick Scott said in a post on social media
It should be clear to everybody by now who our friends really are.
Qatar and Pakistan have long histories of harboring terrorists, and right now they seem far more invested in propping up Iran’s decades-long terror campaign than achieving a meaningful peace.
There is still room

Pakistan kept Osama hidden: Sheehi
The Florida senator’s comments came after Vance’s “we love Pakistan” statement in Switzerland, where the vice president was discussing the technical details of a peace deal with Iran with the leaders of Pakistan and Qatar. Scott said, “There is still room for a practical agreement that benefits everyone. However, everyone must understand that the probability of Iran being in a position to make a nuclear weapon is now zero.”
Apart from Scott, Montana’s senator Tim Sheehy also mentioned Pakistan’s role in giving shelter to Osama bin Laden, the leader of terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, in an interview given to an American news channel Fox News. Sheehy said, “Pakistan, we must not forget, Pakistan kept Osama hidden in its house for a decade. It funded the Ayatollah through ISI.”
Pakistan will not be impartial in talks: Sheehy
Former US Navy SEAL Sheehy also said that if Pakistan and Qatar are involved in talks, then America should also include UAE, Israel and Saudi Arabia in talks. Sheehy said that UAE, Israel and Saudi Arabia are America’s real allies in the Middle East. He also alleged that Qatar has been laundering money for terrorist organizations for decades.
Senator Sheehy of Montana said, “The Pakistanis funded the insurgency against us through the ISI and kept Osama bin Laden hidden. So I don’t think it’s right to assume that they will be an impartial arbiter here.” He said, “I think we have to make sure that we stand with the UAE and Israel unconditionally, because no matter what happens, they will be our foremost ally in the region.”
What did Vice President JD Vance say?
Earlier on a lighter note, Vice President Vance had said on Sunday that Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir was one of his two “favorite” people. Vance said, “Ever since Field Marshal Munir welcomed us in Islamabad with the Prime Minister (Shahbaz Sharif), I have been joking that there are two very important people in my life – an Indian and a Pakistani. The Indian is my wife and the Pakistani is Field Marshal Munir.”
The Vice President also said that in the last three months he has talked to Munir more than “any other person”.
