US-Iran War: War flares up again in the Middle East, America attacks many cities of Iran; Revenge in Hormuz in Tehran

June 11, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Tension between America and Iran has increased again. America carried out new air strikes on many areas of Iran. After this, there were reports of explosions in Sirik, Minab, Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island and Gorgan in southern Iran. A few hours before these attacks, US President Donald Trump had said that America is ready to launch tougher attacks on Iran. He said, ‘We attacked yesterday also and will attack today also. If Iran does not change the situation, the action will continue. Trump also appealed for a compromise with Iran.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also said that the US Army’s Central Command (CENTCOM) will be busy in a major operation that night. CENTCOM later confirmed that additional attacks were carried out on several Iranian targets on the President’s orders. America says that this action was taken in response to Iran’s continuous aggressive activities. After this, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also attacked two ships trying to pass through Hormuz. IRGC has claimed that it has targeted 18 important targets in the retaliatory attack. These also include one airbase in Bahrain and two airbases in Kuwait.

US Central Command forces began launching additional self-defense strikes today at 5:15 pm ET against multiple targets in Iran at the Commander in Chiefs direction. The strikes are in response to Iran’s unwarranted and continued aggression.

Iran announced closure of Hormuz

After the American attacks, Iran took a big step and announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Joint Military Command said that now no oil tanker, cargo ship or other vessel will be able to pass through this route. Iran warned that if any ship tries to pass through there, it will be targeted. Iran also refuted America’s claim that safe navigation is taking place through this sea route. Iran says that the situation in the area is not safe. However, the US Central Command says that some commercial ships are still going through this route.

Iran called Trump’s claim false

Meanwhile, Trump told Fox News that Iranian officials had contacted him and demanded to stop the bombing. Trump claimed that the attacks may end soon, but America will take action again if necessary. He also said that Israel was not involved in this attack. However, Iran completely rejected Trump’s claim. Iranian state media said no Iranian official had contacted Trump and the claim was false.
