UPTET 2026: What to carry and what not to carry to the exam centre? Know the timing and important instructions

UPTET (Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test) is starting from 2nd July i.e. Thursday. This examination will be conducted from July 2 to July 4 in the entire state. About 16 lakh candidates from 60 districts of the state will appear in this examination. Apart from the candidates from UP, more than one lakh candidates from other states have also registered. This examination will be conducted at a total of 955 centres.

More than one lakh serving teachers of Basic Education Department are also appearing as candidates in this examination. Apart from this, UPTET 2026 exam is being conducted at 46 centers in Lucknow, in which 96,454 candidates will appear. The examination will be conducted in two shifts. Candidates have been advised to reach the examination center well before time. There will be intensive checking during entry. It will be mandatory for all the candidates to bring the admit card, three passport size photographs and a valid identity card.

Entry to the center will close 45 minutes in advance

The first shift will be from 9:30 am to 12:00 noon and the second shift will be from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Entry into the center will be closed 45 minutes before the start of the examination.

pay special attention to time

Time management is the biggest challenge in the examination hall. Experts advise to solve the questions which seem easy first. Don’t waste too much time on difficult or complicated questions. Keep filling the OMR sheet simultaneously or after completing each section. Don’t leave it for the last minute.

Keep important documents ready today itself

Teachers often share information about exam day rules on social media. Make sure you reach the examination center at least an hour before the gate closing time. Do not forget to carry a printout of your admit card, original identity proof (like Aadhar card or PAN card) and black ballpoint pen.
