Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath made a big announcement on Monday (29 June). They have decided to change the name of the line crossing area of Moradabad. The special thing is that he announced to name it after former Congress MLA Dau Dayal Khanna. CM said that Dau Dayal Khanna had played an important role in the Ram Mandir movement in Ayodhya. In such a situation, the government is taking this decision to honor his contribution.
While addressing a program in Moradabad, CM Yogi remembered the contribution of Dau Dayal Khanna. During this, he told that the President of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagya Committee formed in 1983 was his Guru Mahant Avaidyanath, while Dau Dayal Khanna was associated as the General Secretary of that movement. He was among the prominent personalities of Moradabad.
Decision to honor contribution
Chief Minister Yogi said that Dau Dayal Khanna dedicated his entire life to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi movement. The government is taking this decision to honor his contribution. He said that Khanna was a Congress MLA, but remained deeply associated with the Ram Mandir movement. Paying tribute to him, CM said that his contribution will always be remembered.
Gift of 63 projects worth Rs 365 crore
This announcement was made during the Chief Minister’s visit to Moradabad. During this period, CM Yogi also inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 63 development projects worth more than Rs 365 crore. These projects will strengthen the infrastructure and civic amenities of Moradabad. CM said that Moradabad is now emerging as a new identity of education, innovation and modern development.
He said that earlier, where the youth had to go to other cities for higher education, now Moradabad has its own university, due to which the youth of the area are getting better opportunities. He said that today’s Moradabad is establishing new dimensions of innovation and development. Construction of wide roads in the city, expansion of smart city projects and development of modern facilities have become its new identity.
Old connection with Ram Mandir movement
Dau Dayal Khanna was one of the prominent faces of the early phase of the Ram Mandir movement. When Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mukti Yagya Committee was formed in 1983 under the leadership of Mahant Avaidyanath, Khanna was given the responsibility of General Secretary. He played an important role in taking the movement to the people.
