Ukraine’s Flamingo missile is proving to be a game changer, what is Zelensky’s 40 day plan, which increased Putin’s tension

June 28, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Recently, Ukraine has attacked a secret and important military base located in Volgograd city of Russia with the indigenous long-range ballistic missile Flamingo. This city is 300 miles away from the war front. This attack has shaken the Kremlin and increased the concerns of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Ukraine targeted Russia’s Titan-Barricade Research and Production Center. It is one of the few military plants in Russia which does everything from designing to final production under one roof.

This attack is part of a 40-day plan by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whose aim is to put pressure on Russia and force it to end the war. Let us know what is Ukraine’s new Brahmastra and how Zelensky’s new masterplan is bringing Russia to its knees…

Titan-Barricade: Nuclear launchers are made here

Ukraine’s Flamingo missiles targeted Russia’s Titan-Barricady Research and Production Center on Friday night. After this attack, a massive fire broke out in the entire complex. Russian officials have confirmed that at least 10 people have been injured in the attack and the production facility has been heavily damaged.

Why is this military base special?

  1. This complex is part of Russia’s government space agency Roscosmos.
  2. It is one of the few military plants in Russia that does everything from designing to production under one roof.
  3. In this plant, Russia’s most deadly Yars nuclear missile system and launchers for Iskander ballistic missile are made.
  4. Apart from this, anti-ship missiles and heavy artillery are prepared here for the Navy.

Why is Flamingo Missile a gamechanger?

The Flamingo missile, which joined the Ukrainian Army last year, is proving to be the biggest turning point of this war. It has been developed by Fire Point, a Ukrainian defense company. The main features of this missile are as follows…

  1. 3,200 km range: The estimated range of the Flamingo missile is about 3,200 km. This means that Ukraine can target any industrial or military city across Russia, including Moscow, sitting within its borders.
  2. High Speed and Heavy Payload: Compared to conventional drones, this ballistic missile flies at many times faster speed and is capable of carrying a huge amount of explosives (payload) with it.
  3. Freedom from Western restrictions: America and NATO countries have given long-range weapons to Ukraine, but have imposed a condition on their use that they will not be used to attack the Russian mainland. Since Flamingo is completely made in Ukraine, Kiev does not need anyone’s permission to carry out attacks inside Russia.

What is Zelensky’s 40 day plan?

Zelensky has recently launched a 40-day offensive to force Russia to retreat. Under this plan, Russia is being weakened on three fronts:

  • Attack on Military-Industrial Complex: Instead of attacking Russia’s frontline troops, Ukraine is destroying their weapons factories. Earlier this month, Flamingo missiles hit the Progress factory 600 miles away in Cheboksary, where anti-jamming antennae for Russian drones were made.
  • Russian economy and blockade of oil refineries: Ukraine is continuously targeting Russia’s oil and fuel bases. Also on Saturday night, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) attacked the Vtorovo oil pumping station located in the Vladimir region near Moscow with a drone. This station is the main center of petroleum shipping for Russia’s domestic consumption and export.
  • Isolation of Crimea: Ukraine has attacked Russia’s Patsir-S1 air defense system and car ferry in occupied Crimea. Due to this strategy, Crimea is losing contact with the Russian mainland and there is a severe shortage of fuel and supplies.

What is affecting Russia?

Ukraine’s new missile and drone campaign is having a direct economic and psychological impact on Russia:

  • 20% decline in fuel production: Due to continuous attacks on oil refineries, Russia’s total fuel production has fallen by about 20 percent this year.
  • Public dissatisfaction: There is now a shortage of petrol within Russia, due to which for the first time Russian citizens are having to pay the direct and personal cost of this war.

However, Russia is also carrying out deadly air strikes in response, in which recently 2 Ukrainian citizens died and 20 others were injured.
