
Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Sunday that the proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will not affect tribals in any way. He appealed to the community not to fall prey to the false propaganda being spread on this issue. Addressing the Tribal Cultural Samagam program organized at Red Fort ground, Amit Shah said that special provisions have been made to implement UCC in BJP ruled states, so that tribal communities can be kept out of its purview.
On the occasion of the grand event of tribal cultural gathering, Amit Shah, while addressing about 1.5 lakh tribes, said that this gathering will be known as Mahakumbh of tribes. The Home Minister said that this cultural gathering will be known for many years to come as giving a new identity to the movement of tribal survival, identity and culture.
He said that I have not seen Lord Birsa Munda, but today his image is being reflected in the tribes present here, I salute him. Describing the basis of sustainable development, Amit Shah described Lord Birsa Munda’s efforts to conserve water, forest and land as universal.
Amit Shah said that nature worship is the basic basis of Sanatan culture. He also assured the tribal community regarding the UCC laws and said that the UCC law has not been made with the aim of influencing them. Shah also told that the work of welfare of tribal society started after the coming of BJP government, Atal ji had established the Ministry of Tribal Welfare.

National Convener of Tribal Suraksha Manch, Ganesh Ram Bhagat ji said that the effect of religious conversion is becoming increasingly visible in the tribes, which is cancer for our society. He said that the tribal community present here today is a sea of people. National co-convenor of Tribal Security Forum, Dr. Raj Kishore Hansda said that he will never accept religious conversion. If we change then our culture will be destroyed.
Harsh Chauhan of Tribal Suraksha Manch said that tribal society protects India. More than 700 tribal communities spread across India came together to fight the British. He said that tribes are the core of Sanatan Dharma and we are against those who say that we have no religion.
Techi Gubin said that there is a need to stop the conversions taking place within our own castes. He demanded from the Government of India that the reservation under Article 314 should be abolished so that those who have accepted conversion cannot avail double benefit of reservation.

Budhri Tati said that when our maternal power awakens, no one can stop it. He called upon the people of his community to come forward and together try to protect their society. Budhri Tati said that whoever protects his society today, his future generations are safe.
Tribal Commission advisor and former judge Prakash Uike said that Birsa Munda was put in jail at the behest of the missionaries. He said that even when Lord Birsa Munda used to walk while being in jail, the British government was afraid of him. The entire life of Lord Birsa Munda was dedicated to saving water, forests and land. This struggle is working to keep our culture alive.
National President of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, Satyendra Singh said that Birsa is an ideal man like God of all the tribes. He termed the program as Kumbh for the tribal society. He told that Birsa Munda fought with the British, fought to stop the conversion, Satyendra Singh said that the tribal society has played a role of cooperation with the government and will continue to do so.
This cultural program was organized on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda. In this event, a glimpse of the cultural identity, faith and traditional life values of the tribal society across the country was seen on a large scale. In this historic gathering, the participation of about 1.5 lakh tribal community representatives and community members from different states of the country was seen. A special delegation from Andaman and Nicobar Islands was present.

As part of the event, the procession reached the Red Fort grounds from Rajghat Chowk, Ramlila Maidan, Ajmeri Gate Chowk, Qudsia Bagh (Kashmiri Gate), Shyamgiri Temple (near Shastri Park Bus Depot). Delhi Police and local administration cooperated in making the event successful and well organized. Residential arrangements were made at 79 different places in Delhi to accommodate the tribal participants coming from across the country. Hundreds of social workers from the tribal community were present along with the organizing committee Prakash Uike, Mahesh Bhag Chandka, Ashok Kumar Gond.
