Tvisha Sharma case: CBI took over the investigation, team reached Bhopal, lodged FIR

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered an FIR on Monday in the case of Tvisha Sharma’s death. CBI has registered a case against her husband and mother-in-law. Earlier in the day, the agency sent a special crime unit to Bhopal to take over the investigation and collect necessary documents and evidence.

After the meeting, the CBI, as per procedure, again registered the state police FIR, naming Samarth Singh and Giribala Singh as accused.

Dead body was found hanging in in-laws’ house

The body of Tvisha Sharma (33) was found hanging in her in-laws’ house in Katara Hills area of ​​Bhopal on May 12. Her family has accused her in-laws of dowry harassment and abetting suicide. Whereas Tvisha’s in-laws claimed that she was addicted to drugs.

A bench of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi, hearing the case on Monday, said that it will ensure that the investigation in this case is fair, independent and without bias.

Tvisha’s husband and mother-in-law nominated

The police have registered an FIR under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS) and relevant sections of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Tvisha’s husband Samarth Singh and her mother-in-law and former district judge Giribala Singh have been named in the FIR.

Both parties should avoid giving statements on media platforms.

The bench said that we would like to ask the victim’s family members as well as the accused’s family members to record their views before the investigating agency instead of giving statements in public or on media platforms, so that there is no adverse impact on the ongoing investigation and there is no prejudice.
