Congress leader Sachin Pilot on Saturday alleged that donations worth crores of rupees received for the Ram temple in Ayodhya have been misused. He demanded the immediate dismissal of the temple trust and an impartial investigation into the alleged irregularities under the supervision of a Supreme Court judge. According to PTI News, while addressing a press conference in Agra, Sachin Pilot claimed that the donations received to the Ram Temple were allegedly diverted instead of being used for the temple.
Sachin Pilot Alleged that crores of rupees have been stolen from the donations and offerings received to Ayodhya Ram temple. People donated based on their financial capacity, but instead of being used for the temple, the money was stolen. The people responsible for its maintenance were themselves involved in it. He said that the trust should be dissolved immediately and the entire matter should be investigated under the supervision of a Supreme Court judge.
Demand for action against the culprits
He said that embezzling government money is the biggest sin. Those who did it, those who facilitated it and those who saved it, all should be prosecuted. On the other hand, Congress spokesperson Atul Londhe Patil said that BJP is now saving the alleged financial irregularities related to Ram Temple.
He claimed that in 2020, a chartered accountancy firm and the State Bank of India had raised issues related to the financial management of the trust, but no effective action was taken.
Questioning the impartiality of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh, Patil said that Congress has no faith in the investigation.
Congress’s attack on BJP
Patil said that the Center had a role in the formation of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and selection of members. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should break their silence on this issue.
Madhya Pradesh Congress Media Department Chairman and former minister Mukesh Nayak alleged that BJP has used religion and faith for political purposes.
Congress leaders said that the new trust should include Shankaracharya, religious leaders, saints and representatives of different religious traditions. The party also demanded fair action against those found guilty of financial irregularities.
