Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh has made many allegations and raised questions in the case of alleged donation theft in Ayodhya Ram temple. He alleged that the Trust lodged the FIR just to perform the ritual and to divert attention. He also said that to save many people including Champat Rai, an FIR was lodged against the employees. He said that the Trust already had CCTV footage, so why was the FIR not lodged yet. According to PTI, Sanjay Singh on Thursday also handed over documents to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing alleged irregularities in the donations received by the Ram Temple.
In a post shared on social media platform X, Sanjay Singh alleged that Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has committed a scam of crores of rupees through land purchase. He said, ‘I have handed over all the documents to the SIT. Only Lord Ram knows what further action will be taken.
He said that these documents can help in highlighting various aspects of the case. He told reporters, ‘The purpose of appearing before the SIT was to present my side and present the documents I had.’ He claimed that the SIT chairman himself had contacted him and invited him to cooperate in the investigation.
SIT was formed on June 13
This development comes days after the Uttar Pradesh government constituted a special investigation team to probe allegations of embezzlement of donations received by the Ram Mandir Trust. The SIT submitted its preliminary investigation report to the Uttar Pradesh government last Tuesday. The report was submitted by Lucknow Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant to Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Sanjay Prasad, who is an ex-officio member of the Trust. At present the investigation of the case is going on. In fact, after allegations of corruption by the Temple Trust came to light, the Uttar Pradesh government had formed this special investigation team on June 13.
What did Akhilesh Yadav say?
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has accused him of protecting ‘big people’ in this matter. He said through a social media post that on the pretext of constituting the SIT, all the evidence would have been destroyed and it would have also been decided which big people would be saved and who would be implicated. Only after this the FIR was registered.
