However, these attacks are being seen as just the beginning of the devastation to come. Tonight, America can launch its biggest ever attack on Iran, this has been announced by President Trump himself. Experts believe that if America attacks tonight, it will open the way for a decisive and full-scale war in the Arab region. The events of the last 24 hours have dashed all hopes of peace. To understand how this happened, we have to look at the sequence of three important events.
Ali Khamenei’s coffin had reached Iraq, and he was to be given a funeral in Najaf and Karbala. Meanwhile, America carried out night airstrikes on Iranian coasts and islands near Hormuz. About 12 hours later, US President Donald Trump in Ankara announced the end of the ceasefire. US President Donald Trump said, “I think the ceasefire is over. I don’t want to make any deal with them anymore. They are irrational people. They are sick. They are led by people with sick minds. They are violent people.” Additionally, Trump’s language regarding Iran has angered both its leadership and citizens.
Result of attacks on oil tankers
Donald Trump’s anger and decision are the result of the attacks on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz. Following these incidents, and on his orders, US forces launched vigorous attacks on Iranian coastal areas and islands in the region. It is believed that the last means of peace between Iran and America has also ended. It is noteworthy that when the US President was attending the NATO summit in Ankara, Khamenei’s coffin had reached Najaf, Iraq for his last journey.
Iranian drone launch sites destroyed
Meanwhile, America attacked Iranian coastal areas and islands near the Strait of Hormuz, which created panic in the entire region. In addition, the US attacked Bandar Abbas and destroyed drone launch sites located on the coast. Missile launch sites were also targeted. America seized anti-ship missile launchers, which Iran was using to attack ships. And destroyed the speedboats deployed on the Bandar Abbas coast.
Iran’s command center and radar station destroyed
The US also attacked Sirik, who was a prime target during these tense times. Last night there was a missile attack, in which Iran’s speedboats were destroyed and the command center which Iran used to monitor all activities in the Strait of Hormuz was also blown up. Apart from this, a radar station of Iran was also destroyed.
Qeshm Island was also attacked. CENTCOM targeted the island’s port and destroyed Iran’s air defense systems. It is said that these systems were deployed there recently. A radar station on Qeshm Island was blown up and a command center present there was also destroyed by America.
Iran had no idea of such a big attack
In fact, Iran never thought that the US would launch such a major bombing campaign near the Strait of Hormuz, because Donald Trump was busy in the NATO summit that started in Ankara on July 7. The Iranian military believed that Trump would take a decision only after returning to Washington. However, this thinking proved to be completely wrong, because Trump decided to launch the attack while still in Ankara.
Trump made attack strategy while sitting in Ankara
Donald Trump held a meeting in Ankara, which was attended by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Marco Rubio, Scott Besant and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Cain. All of them were present in the city for a NATO conference. During this meeting, Trump ordered the largest peacetime attack against Iran.

US President Trump said, “We launched a major attack on Iran last night. There is a problem with them. We told them to go and perform their last rites, but instead, they started firing rockets at ships yesterday. So, we attacked them very strongly last night.” America described it as an attack ten times bigger than the attack ten days earlier and claimed that about 80 targets were destroyed within a few hours. Sixty speedboats of IRGC were also destroyed in these attacks.
Iranian Navy suffered heavy losses
According to reports, America’s main target was the coastal area of Tahiruyi in Hormozgan, which is considered the safest destination for Iranian speedboats. This was the first time that America attacked Tahiruyi area of Hormozgan province. The Iranian Navy suffered heavy losses due to bombardment on its coast. Iran keeps its speedboats here and destroying them has been a challenge for America. This area acts as a natural protective shield for Iranian speedboats. Mangrove forests and small bays provide cover, allowing Iran to hide its small ships.
Iranian speedboat increases America’s problems
Since these speedboats are made of fiberglass or plastic, they are difficult to detect by American radar. American drones continuously patrol the sky to find out their location. Since these boats remain hidden here, it is very difficult to see them from above and they often escape the sight of cameras. Tahiruyi is mainly a civilian area, although there are several fishing villages. As a result, fishing boats are often seen nearby, making the situation even more complicated for the United States.
Iran begins preparations for final confrontation
Meanwhile, Iran is very angry with the American attacks. After the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran has started preparations for the final confrontation. It is reported that President Pejeshkian returned to Iran from Iraq immediately after the attacks. Iran says that America has now violated all the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). In a post, Qalibaf said that by attacking Iran the US has violated the Hormuz Agreement. Oil sanctions have been reimposed and southern Iran has been attacked.
