Just before the Iran deal, Israel attacked the Dahiya area of Beirut. After this, Iran retaliated and carried out attacks targeting Israel. Now US President Donald Trump’s reaction has come to light. Trump said that this attack should not have happened. He appealed to all parties to exercise restraint and not to escalate tensions further. Trump wrote in a post on his social media handle Truth, ‘The attack on Beirut this morning should not have happened, especially on such an important day when we are very close to a peace agreement with Iran.
Trump further wrote, ‘Israel has the right to defend itself from threats, but the attack it responded to was minor and ineffective. There were no injuries or casualties, and it should not derail this important process. We are close to an agreement that will bring peace to the entire region, including Lebanon, and all parties need to step back.
Trump further said, ‘Israel should not carry out any more attacks anywhere in Lebanon, but Hezbollah or any other party should also not attack Israel. This could be the beginning of a long and glorious peace. Let’s not waste it! Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Israel angry with US and Iran agreement!
According to an AP report, the US deal with Iran in its current form is very disappointing for the Israeli government, which was sidelined during the talks led by Pakistan and other countries. Tensions between Iran and Israel had already increased when Israel attacked the outskirts of Beirut a week earlier, even though the ceasefire had come into effect on 7 April. In such a situation, once again an attack on Beirut by Israel can restart the war. However, this time Trump wants a compromise with Iran under any circumstances.
Know why Israel attacked
According to Israeli media reports, Netanyahu’s office said that these attacks were carried out in response to Hezbollah’s attacks on northern Israel. The Israeli army said that Hezbollah had fired three projectiles and released a video in which smoke was seen rising after a huge explosion. However, there was no immediate comment on the incident from Iran-backed Hezbollah.
Agreement agreed upon between America and Iran?
Reuters news agency claims that in the peace deal being prepared between America and Iran, agreement has been reached on issues related to nuclear program, oil ban, frozen assets and Strait of Hormuz. Reuters has given this information quoting a senior Iranian official. According to the report, Iran has said that it will neither make nuclear weapons nor acquire them from any other country. Until a final agreement is reached, Iran will not make any major changes in its existing nuclear program.
According to Reuters, Iran will neither enrich uranium nor expand its nuclear facilities. Also, Iran will immediately open Hormuz for all commercial ships. In return, the US will begin lifting the naval blockade imposed on Iranian ports. America will also temporarily relax the restrictions on Iran’s oil exports.
