Trend of running after rank…focus on mental health of children is necessary, experts said on the stage of TV9 Bharatvarsh

TV9 Bharatvarsh organized its Education Summit Bharatvarsh Topper on Monday. In the programme, the education system and its improvement as well as the students were talked about. Teacher Abhinav Sharma, Education Consultant Jitin Chawla, Psychiatrist Dr. Sandeep Vohra participated in the program.

On this occasion, teacher Abhinav Sharma talked about the increasing pressure among children. He said that every child runs after rank. Children are told from the very beginning that they have to get the highest marks, they have to top. He said that there is pressure of books on children from the very beginning. Whereas this is not the case in the education system of other places. He said that in other places it depends on the child. There the child gets 7 to 8 days to appear for the examination. The day his mood is good, he can take the exam.

‘Education system not updated’

He said that India’s education system is not as updated as it should be. He said that the books which he read were the same books which his father also read. Teacher Abhinav Sharma said that parents do not follow up their children, they just tell them that they have to get good marks.

He said that the trend of coaching increased in the country because India’s education system continued to weaken. He said that children did not get the education they should have received in schools. He said that what is taught to a 12th class child in school is not asked in the NEET exam, why is this so? He said that the child is told right from the beginning that he has to become a doctor and engineer, while his basic education system is not even developed.

‘No information about career options’

Education consultant Jitin Chawla said that there are many schools in the country which have changed a lot. Where children are doing their own startups. He said that in India, parents think of only 14 career options for their children whereas there are many more options. He said that there are more than 78 thousand career options in the world. He said that there are many such courses about which people are not aware.

‘It is important to focus on the mental health of children’

Here psychiatrist Dr. Sandeep Vohra said that as soon as a child goes to 9th class, the pressure on children and parents increases. He told that children of 5th and 6th class also come to him for consulting. He said that the pressure of parents is maximum on children. He said that it is very important to focus on the mental health of children.
