The funeral procession of eunuchs is different. It is said that the dead bodies of eunuchs are not carried on four shoulders, but are carried standing. There is a shocking belief behind keeping the funeral procession and last rites of eunuchs a secret. It is said that if someone sees the funeral procession or dead body of eunuchs, then his next birth can be in the eunuch vagina. Kinnars do not mourn but celebrate the death of a Kinnar.

Kinnars believe that the soul of the person who dies is freed from the sufferings of life. During this time, the eunuchs worship their adored god Iravan and pray that the departed soul should not be born as a eunuch next time. After the last rites, a week-long fast is observed in the Kinnar community and prayers are also offered for the peace of the soul of the deceased.

There is a tradition of burying the dead body

In Hindu religion, there is a tradition of cremating the dead body, but the dead bodies of eunuchs are not burnt but buried. Kinnars wrap the body in white cloth before cremation.
