Before the war, 120 ships used to pass through Hormuz every day. Iran hopes that after peace is established, 120 ships will pass through this route again. Keeping these 120 ships in mind, Iran has set a target of collecting toll of 43 billion dollars from Hormuz.
If seen on a daily basis, Iran is preparing to earn 117.8 million dollars from Hormuz through toll collection every day. Iran will also give some of this money to Oman.
Preparation to take toll in Chinese currency
Iran wants to collect the toll on ships passing through Hormuz in Chinese or Russian currency. In recent days, Oman had made a proposal to Iran to end the toll impasse. It was said that Iran should collect toll in the name of environmental fee, but hand over the entire system to any other country or independent agency, so that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard cannot act arbitrarily in Hormuz.
Iran rejected this proposal. Iran has made it clear that it needs revenue immediately. Tehran will not give the responsibility of toll collection to any other country or agency.
